SEND

At Bell Lane we aim to make every effort to secure provision for any child with Special Educational Needs or Disabilities and to improve their outcomes through high aspirations and expectations for children and young people with SEN and/or disabilities.

All Barnet Local Authority (LA) schools are expected to identify and support pupils with special educational needs and to support them in making the best possible progress. Schools are required to be inclusive, with the needs of pupils with special educational needs and disabilities being met in a mainstream setting wherever possible.

Schools have a duty to publish SEN information on their website that is reviewed annually. The Local Authority is also expected to publish information about services they expect to be available for the children and young people with SEN aged 0-25. This is called the 'Local Offer'. The intention of the Local Offer is to improve choice and information being given to families. It will be an important resource for parents and carers in understanding the range of services and provision in their local area.

Please telephone the school on 020 8203 3115 or email laironi@belllane.barnet.sch.uk to make an appointment with Liana Aironi, Lead SENCO if you would like to discuss your child’s needs.

Our Special Educational Needs Policy and Procedures gives details on how we identify children with SEN, assess their needs and support their learning and social development. It includes arrangements for consulting parents and children and involving them in their education as well as arrangements for assessing and reviewing children's progress towards outcomes, including transitions to their next schools.
